State Representative Scott Oelslager from North Canton has announced the passage of several legislative measures in the Ohio House. The newly passed bills cover a range of topics, including mental health, trade relations, privacy rights, military benefits, tax deductions, and homeowner exemptions.

House Concurrent Resolution 16 focuses on increasing awareness about perinatal mental health. Senate Bill 195, co-sponsored by Oelslager, establishes the Ohio-Ireland Trade Commission to enhance economic and cultural ties between Ohio and Ireland. Sub. Senate Bill 100 aims to protect individual privacy by prohibiting the installation of electronic tracking devices without consent.

Senate Bill 257 expands eligibility for the Ohio Homebuyer Plus program to active-duty military members stationed in Ohio but residing elsewhere. House Bill 274 introduces an enhanced homestead exemption of $50,000 for long-term homeowners who have lived in their homes for at least twenty years. House Bill 125 modifies income tax deductions for contributions to state 529 plans and ABLE savings accounts by raising annual deduction limits for married joint filers and indexing these limits to inflation.
