State Representative Scott Oelslager of North Canton has announced the passage of several legislative measures in Ohio. The following bills were highlighted:
House Joint Resolution 8, sponsored by Oelslager, will allow Ohio voters to decide on renewing the Public Works Commission State Capital Improvement Program. This resolution passed with an 87-4 vote.
House Bill 683, co-sponsored by Oelslager, allocates $10 million to the Department of Agriculture for drought mitigation efforts. This bill also passed with an 87-4 vote.
House Bill 296 aims to modernize contributions to the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund by increasing employer contributions for police, aligning them with those for fire services. This bill was co-sponsored by Oelslager and passed with a 66-25 vote.
House Bill 382 requires prescription drug readers for visually impaired patients to convey important information about dangerous drugs. It was approved with an 82-7 vote.
Senate Bill 154 updates definitions within the Revised Code to include the U.S. Space Force as part of the U.S. Armed Forces, Armed Services, and Uniformed Services. Co-sponsored by Oelslager, this bill received unanimous support with an 84-0 vote.
