City of Canton Mayor William V. Sherer II has issued a reminder to residents and visitors about the city's curfew rules, emphasizing the importance of safety for the youth during the summer months. The mayor stressed that curfew enforcement will be strict, with accountability expected from both parents and children in case of violations.

"We want all of our families and youth to enjoy summer in the safest way possible," said Mayor Sherer. "Enforcing this curfew allows us to make sure safety is always our main priority."

The city's ordinance, Canton Codified Ordnance 503.02, prohibits minors from loitering or being in public places between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., unless accompanied by an adult or engaged in specific exempted activities such as emergencies, legitimate employment, or attending scheduled events registered with authorities.

For further details, residents can contact the Mayor’s office at 330.438.4307.
