Speaker Pro Tempore Scott Oelslager of North Canton expressed his condolences on the passing of State Senator Kirk Schuring. Oelslager released a statement mourning the loss of his colleague and friend.

“Today, I join my fellow Stark Countians and Ohioans in mourning the loss of a strong public servant and friend, Senator Kirk Schuring," said Oelslager. He praised Schuring's dedication to serving the community and state, stating that "we are all better because of him." Reflecting on their long partnership, he added, "Kirk and I have been teammates for more than 30 years, and I will miss him dearly."

Oelslager extended his sympathies to Schuring’s family: “I extend my sincere condolences to Kirk’s wife, Darlene, his children, and the rest of his family and friends.”
