Oelslager announces passage of multiple House bills addressing local issues

COLUMBUS—Speaker Pro Tempore Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) announced the recent passage of multiple House bills.

“In everything I do, whether it is in Columbus or back in my home district of Stark County, I will continue to make your priorities my priorities,” said Oelslager.

Each bill is highlighted below:

House Bill 370, co-sponsored by Oelslager, will require the Ohio Department of Transportation to maintain and repair state routes that run through villages. The bill passed with a vote of 96-0.

Substitute House Bill 315, also known as the Township Omnibus Bill, aims to aid Ohio townships by creating a township license plate for better vehicle identification and granting townships the authority to establish Township Preservation Commissions. This bill passed with a vote of 94-0.

House Bill 87, co-sponsored by Oelslager, ensures that American and Ohio flags purchased by the state or political subdivisions are made in the United States. The bill passed with a vote of 94-1.

House Bill 328, co-sponsored by Oelslager, amends sections of the revised code regarding the sale of catalytic converters to combat catalytic converter theft. This bill passed with a vote of 93-2.

House Bill 531, known as Braden’s Law, defines and combats sextortion in Ohio. The bill passed with a vote of 95-0.

House Bill 452, co-sponsored by Oelslager, provides a framework for statewide violence prevention and workplace safety plans in hospitals. This includes training and reporting standards. The bill passed with a vote of 72-21.

Substitute House Bill 399 creates an income tax credit for employers who provide paid leave to employees who make an organ donation. This aims to provide financial relief to living organ donors. The bill passed with a vote of 82-10.

House Bill 397 increases public awareness about early warning signs of dementia. The bill passed with a vote of 94-0.

Substitute House Bill 24 increases and standardizes access to biomarker testing for Ohioans battling cancer and other diseases through health plan and Medicaid coverage. The bill passed with a vote of 77-17.
