State Rep. Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) has announced the recent passage of several bills in the Ohio House of Representatives. The legislation covers a range of issues, from public safety to healthcare.

Among the measures is House Bill 20, which Oelslager co-sponsored. The bill increases protections for first responders during emergency situations by prohibiting harassment or interference with their work.

House Bill 23, also co-sponsored by Oelslager, creates a regional alert system to inform the public about escaped convicts.

Another co-sponsored measure, House Bill 52, updates language in state law concerning Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists.

House Bill 168 seeks to address a gap in Ohio's criminal child enticement statute that previously allowed some convictions to be overturned. According to supporters, this change aims to better protect children and ensure justice in such cases.

House Bill 247, known as “Avery’s Law,” makes adjustments to laws dealing with dangerous and vicious dogs.

Oelslager also supported House Resolution 147, which calls on Congress to form a special committee investigating the East Palestine train derailment and how the United States Environmental Protection Agency responded.

Additionally, Senate Bill 114—which Oelslager co-sponsored—bans law enforcement agencies from setting quotas for arrests and citations.

Oelslager invites constituents to share feedback or opinions by calling his office at (614) 752-2438, emailing Rep48@OhioHouse.gov, or writing to 77 South High St., Columbus, Ohio 43215.
