COLUMBUS—Speaker Pro Tempore Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) has announced the recent passage of multiple pieces of legislation. The details of each bill are as follows:

Senate Bill 81, which passed with a vote of 89-1, will authorize hospital-based advanced practice registered nurses and physician assistants to sign certain documents necessary for patient processing within facilities where current law requires a physician's signature.

House Bill 271, approved unanimously with a vote of 90-0, will adjust the numbering convention for statewide ballot issues to prevent the reuse of issue numbers in future elections.

House Bill 338, co-sponsored by Oelslager and passed with a vote of 85-4, will clarify how courts award child support in divorce cases for children with disabilities who are over the age of 18 and unable to support themselves.

House Bill 194, which received an 87-3 vote, will create a consumer optional vendor license plate program. This allows organizations and individuals to design personalized and specialty license plates.

House Bill 265, passing unanimously with an 89-0 vote, will exempt certain sensitive information about first responders from disclosure under public records law.

“In everything I do, whether it is in Columbus or back in my home district of Stark County, I will continue to make your priorities my priorities,” said Oelslager. “With that goal in mind, I welcome your feedback and opinions at any time. Please do not hesitate to contact me by calling (614) 752-2438, emailing Rep48@OhioHouse.gov, or by writing me at 77 South High St., Columbus, Ohio 43215.”
