If you want to challenge your value of your property on which your taxes are based, you must file a formal appeal through the Board of Revision by March 31st of the calendar year. You must obtain the form from the Auditor’s office or website at starkcountyohio.gov/auditor or by calling (330) 451-7323 to see if you qualify.

I have a question about the Prepayment Program.
If you make monthly debit payments, the fifth and final debit amount for the first half 2022 taxes will be the amount due on your tax bill. Please note your account will be debited on Wednesday, February 8th.  The Prepayments for the second half of 2022 will begin on Friday, February 24th.  If you are not already enrolled and want to enroll in the Prepayment program you can contact Rick at 330-451-7814 Ext 7824 to see if you qualify.

I have a question about my Delinquent Contract.
If you are currently under a Delinquent Contract Plan, in addition to your monthly coupon payments, you will receive a tax bill for the 2022 first half taxes, which are due and payable by February 22, 2023. The payments that accompany the tax bills will ONLY be applied toward the current year taxes due. If your payment does not include a bill or coupon, your payment will automatically be applied toward the delinquent balance. If sending by mail, your payment must be paid in full and U.S. Postmarked by February 22, 2023 to remain current under the contract. Please return the bottom portion of the bill and include your parcel number(s) on your check made payable to the Stark County Treasurer. To speak to someone about your delinquent contract you may call Ed at 330-451-7814 Ext 7821 or call Chuck at 330-451-7814 Ext 7823.

I have a question about my Delinquent Contract Plan Coupons.
In January your next set of monthly coupons will be mailed with a letter explaining your coupons and tax bills. Each coupon is due on the 20th of each month. The payments that accompany the monthly coupons will ONLY be applied toward the delinquent amount. If your payment does not include a bill or coupon, your payment will automatically be applied toward the delinquent balance. Please return the Treasurer’s portion of the coupon and include your parcel number(s) on your check made payable to the Stark County Treasurer and mail to 110 Central Plaza South, Suite 250, Canton, Ohio 44702. Each coupon must be timely made to keep your contract current. To speak to someone about your delinquent contract you may call Ed at 330-451-7814 Ext. 7821 or call Chuck at 330-451-7814 Ext. 7823.

I received a tax bill but normally it goes to my mortgage company or escrow agent. Why did I get the tax bill? Please check to make sure that it is not a courtesy duplicate copy of your tax bill. Please contact your mortgage company and let them that you received the bill. Ask them to fax to us at 330-451-7815 the correct mailing address information for the tax bill which you received.

What if I did not receive a tax bill as of yet?
Every effort is made to see that you receive your tax bills. Tax bills are mailed to the last known mailing address provided to the Treasurer. Therefore, if you have moved, if your mortgage is paid in full or if your mortgage is sold to another mortgage company, it is the property owner's responsibility under the Ohio Revised Code to contact the Treasurer’s office to advise them of the change in your mailing address to ensure you receive your tax bill. Even if you did not receive your bill, Section 323.13 of the Ohio Revised Code provides that the property owner is responsible for payments (plus any penalties and interest). Please contact us if you did not receive your bill or if you have any indication that your tax bill may have been misdirected.

ORC 323.13 requires that changes to your tax mailing address be done in writing. Address change forms are located on our website. You can complete this form and mail it to our office at 110 Central Plaza South, Suite 250, Canton, OH 44702 or you can email your changes to treasurer@starkcountyohio.gov or you can fax your changes to 330-451-7815. Please be sure to include your parcel number on all correspondence.

You can print a copy of your tax bill from the Stark County Real Estate Search website or you can visit our office to obtain a printed tax bill. Our normal business hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. We are closed weekends and all National Holidays.
