November is National Adoption Month

Join Stark JFS' Division of Children in recognizing the month of November as National Adoption Month, a time dedicated to bringing attention to more than 120,000 children in the U.S. waiting to be adopted from foster care.

In Stark County, there are nearly 400 children living in the foster care system, including many sets of sibling groups.  The average age of those in foster care is 8 years old.  Approximately 70 children are in permanent custody and eligible for adoption.
