Ohio gubernatorial candidate Jim Renacci recently received the endorsement of MyPillow CEO and business leader Mike Lindell.

CNBC News has called Mike Lindell's journey "an amazing American success story." Lindell has tried to launch businesses in carpet cleaning, lunch wagons, pig rearing, and has even worked as a professional card counter. But in 2004, Lindell came up with the idea for MyPillow, inspired by his trouble sleeping when he was younger. Throughout this time, Lindell had struggled with a cocaine addiction, and as he was having trouble getting MyPillow off the ground.

In January 2009, Lindell prayed to God to rid him of his desires to use drugs and he began his sobriety journey. MyPillow's popularity skyrocketed in 2011, and the company expanded from five employees to 500.

Over the next six years, Lindell sold 30 million pillows and saw yearly revenues of around $300 million.

"I am glad to have the support and endorsement of a business leader like Mike Lindell, especially one who understands the importance of the MAGA agenda," Renacci said, according to a press release. "He knows and understands the importance of business leaders stepping into the fight, especially with his ardent support of President Trump. I am thankful to have Mike on Team Renacci!"

Lindell will be in attendance at Canton, Ohio with Renacci and his Lt. Gov. running mate Joe Knopp.

"Mike Lindell continues to be a warrior for America. He joined me in the fight against abortion," Knopp said. "He was the most outspoken CEO supporting President Trump and now fully supporting Jim Renacci and I to return Ohio to a true conservative, Pro-Trump, Pro-life state."

Renacci is a businessman and former U.S. representative for the 16th congressional district running against DeWine, a fellow Republican, in the 2022 GOP gubernatorial primary May 3.
