Barry Sanders Steps Away from the NFL

On July 27, 1999, Barry Sanders, a Pro Football Hall of Famer, announced his retirement from the NFL, marking the end of a storied career with the Detroit Lions. Sanders, who was known for his elusive running style and ability to make defenders miss, left the game after rushing for over 15,000 yards and scoring 99 touchdowns.

A Look Back at Willie Roaf’s Retirement

On July 28, 2006, Pro Football Hall of Famer Willie Roaf announced his retirement from professional football. Roaf, who was a dominant left tackle known for his agility and strength, was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the first round of the 1993 NFL Draft. He went on to have a successful career, earning multiple Pro Bowl selections and All-Pro honors.

Enshrinement of Anthony Muñoz into Pro Football Hall of Fame
