Ohio House passes multiple bills co-sponsored by Rep. Scott Oelslager

State Representative Scott Oelslager from North Canton has announced the recent passage of several legislative bills in Ohio. Each bill, co-sponsored by Oelslager, addresses different areas of public policy.

The Human Trafficking Prevention Act, passed with a unanimous vote of 93-0, will increase criminal penalties for offenses such as human trafficking, kidnapping, and abduction.

House Bill 48 also passed unanimously and modifies tax deductions related to state 529 plans and ABLE accounts. It raises the annual deduction limit for married joint filers and indexes these limits to inflation starting in 2026.

House Bill 133 authorizes a nonrefundable tax credit for small employers offering Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (ICHRAs) to employees. This bill also received a unanimous vote of approval.

House Bill 210, which concerns the sale of used catalytic converters, aims to increase penalties for thefts and create clearer guidelines for transactions involving these items. It passed with a vote of 91-2.

Senate Bill 100 establishes the Farm Bureau Health Plan to provide affordable healthcare coverage for Ohio Farm Bureau members without current healthcare options. This bill was approved with a vote of 90-3.

House Bill 127 allows school boards the authority to withhold student directory information from public release. It was unanimously passed with a vote of 91-0.

House Bill 204 designates March 9th as the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion Day in Ohio, honoring an all-black female unit that served overseas during World War II. This bill was also unanimously approved.

Finally, House Resolution 101 supports Cleveland's bid to host the 2030 Special Olympics USA Games and passed with a unanimous vote of approval at 90-0.
