Former Hoover High School standout Laila Varney played on Saturday, May 10 in hopes of reaching the NCAA Division II Softball Championship

On Saturday, May 10, former Hoover High School standout Laila Varney’s current collegiate team the Charleston Golden Eagles won 1-0 against the Shepherd Rams in the NCAA Division II Softball Championship.

The game took place at North Campus Field at 12:30 p.m. and was the first matchup against the Shepherd Rams in the tournament.

The Charleston Golden Eagles’ next game will take place on Saturday, May 10 at 3 p.m. at North Campus Field.
