MAROON AND GOLD DROP BOTH GAMES IN THE SUNSHINE STATE | Walsh University Athletics

Walsh dropped both of their games in the Sunshine State this past weekend. The Cavs tipped off their first game against a Barry team that was nationally ranked to start the year. What many expected to be a tight game, was even throughout most of the first half until Barry opened up a 16-3 run that helped them to lead by as many as 20 at one point. Walsh desperately tried to bring the game within striking distance. The Cavs sent the Bucs to the line 24 times. Berry shot 52.6% from the field. In game two, Palm Beach Atlantic matched an early Walsh lead, eventually surpassing the Cavs to go up by one at the half. They never looked back from there. The difference in the game came down to PBA's success from the floor and Walsh's lack thereof, only shooting 31.25% in the second half. The Sailfish were 11-of-23 from behind the arc, making it difficult for the Cavs to battle back in a game that got away from them in the last ten minutes.

  • Score: Barry 87 - Walsh 75, Palm Beach Atlantic 73 - Walsh 62
  • Location: Miami Shores, FL,  West Palm Beach, FL
  • Records: Walsh 5-5 (2-2), Barry 4-3 (1-2), Palm Beach Atlantic 5-5, (1-3)
