First Mount Union Veterans Day Event Honors Those Who Served

A capacity crowd gathered in the Newbold Room of the Hoover-Price Campus Center on Friday to recognize the men and women who have honorably served the United States as part of the University of Mount Union’s first on-campus event celebrating Veterans Day.

Organized by the members of the Mount Union and Kent State University ROTC, the event included recognition of four Mount Union alumni who passed away in service. Those individuals were U.S. Air Force First Lieutenant Lee Wagner, Jr. ’61, U.S. Marine Corps Captain William Berry ’64, U.S. Marine Corps First Lieutenant Ralph Hunt ’65 and Army Private First-Class David Urban ’67.

The keynote speaker for the event was U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel Michael Kachilla, professor of management and director of entrepreneurial studies at Mount Union.
