BOWLING STARTS SEASON OFF IN OBC #1

The Walsh University Men's & Women's bowling teams started out the 2022-2023 season in Columbus, Ohio bowling in the Ohio Bowling Conference's first tournament of the season.  The Cavalier women finished in second place overall and the men finished in sixth overall.

LOCATION: Columbus, OH

HOST SITE: Palace Lanes

FOR THE CAVALIER WOMEN:

  • The Cavs had a total pin fall of 6062 on the day.  
  • The maroon and gold  were led by a trio of bowlers finishing in the top 20.  
  • Sophomore Hannah DeFord finished 10th overall with a high game of 208.
  • Senior Addison Starr and Sophomore Kendall Schaar finished tied for 18th overall.
  • Coming in off the bench during individuals, Freshmen Rachel Young didn't take long to make her presence known rolling games of 180 and 245 to have the high game of the day in her first collegiate tournament.  
  • The Junior Varsity took home the win with a total pin fall of 5285.
  • Sophomore Jessica Lawrence bowled a total game of 190. 
FOR THE CAVALIER MEN:

  • The Cavalier Men finished 6th overall with a pin fall of 6457 in their season opener.
  • The team was led by Junior JT Jackson finishing 30th overall and Jordan Norris finishing 33rd overall.  
  • Sophomore Ryan Hanzak finished with the top score of of the day with a 224.  
  • The JV men finished 4th on the day, led by Senior Zach Eble.
  • Eble bowled a 257 for game 1. He finished with a 196.8 average and placed 8th overall.  Zach also earned JV All Tournament selection for his performance.
