Softball Falls to Goldey-Beacom College on Wednesday

10

Malone University Athletic Department issued the following announcement on March 9

Inclement weather disrupted the schedule for the Malone University softball team at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic on Wednesday.

The Pioneers were scheduled to play Goldey-Beacom College at 1:30 p.m. and Barton College at 3:30.

Due rain and thunderstorms in the area, the game against Goldey-Beacom was not able to be played until much later in the afternoon.

In the nightcap, another round of thunderstorms forced Malone and Barton off the field which means that game goes down as a no contest.

Lexi Betz led off with a single. She was brought home on Lauren Bennett's double to put MU up 1-0.

Unfortunately Goldey-Beacom scored the next ten runs of the game unanswered to come away with the 10-1 win.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Malone will close out play in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic on Thursday.

The Pioneers have a rematch with Goldey-Beacom College at 9:30 a.m. They will turn right around to play Franklin Pierce University at 11:30.

Both games are set for Field #6 at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex.
